What is Kabbalistic Healing?
Every religion and tradition of the world has a mystical path. For example, Kabbalah, which means “Receiving” is the mystical path of Judaism, whereas Sufism is the mystical path of Islam. According to the sages, Kabbalah is a system by which one may attain spiritual awakening, self realization and God realization. Kabbalah is a way, a path, as is Yoga.
Traditionally, Kabbalah is the body of mystical teachings that defines inner meaning or interpretation of the Torah. The Torah, which is known by Christians as the Old Testament of the Bible, is comprised of the Five Books of Moses. The Zohar, which means “Radiance”, is the most significant text in Jewish mysticism. The Zohar illuminates the essence of the Torah.
Ultimately, Kabbalah is the personal experience of the divine, right here, right now, in your body. And THAT is the highest expression of the embodiment of these teachings. For those familiar with yoga, Kundalini in yoga is synonymous with Shechinah in Kabbalah ~ it is the feminine essence of the Divine. When one is still and quiet then this energy becomes activated and alive. As the Arizal (Isaac Luria, a famous Kabbalist) taught, the beginning of all spiritual levels is making the body into a vehicle for the Shechinah. It is through the practice of purification, forgiveness, teshuva (returning the heart to face God) that the entire body becomes this vehicle for Shechinah to inhabit.
So how does all this relate to the Healing aspects of Kabbalah?
The alchemical blend of mantras, prayers, and energy rooted in Kabbalah is the vehicle (Merkabah) used to create an altered state, which is the portal of healing. You will have the opportunity to learn different practices and meditations that the sages speak of, which can facilitate healing of the body, the mind, the heart, the soul and the spirit, as I share concepts, knowledge and stories.
My hope is that all participants will have a direct experience of the Divine in their body.
