The amazing story Yossele The Miser told by Shlomo Carlebach
12/7/2012
The Pillar of Defense (Pillar of Cloud original translation from Hebrew) just finished. My first experience of war so close. A very emotionally charged and stressful eight days. Even though, I decided to have my shipment of personal effects, sitting in my overseas shippers warehouse, put on a ship to come to The Holy Land. Not a rational decision at all. After all, I had other peoples goods in the shipment. Friends that I made in Tzfat asked if they could add things to my shipment, I said yes. The shipment was in LA for almost 2.5 years since I arrived here. I felt a sense of obligation to get my friends goods here even though I wasn’t so sure I wanted my stuff here, since I was having thoughts of leaving the Holy City of Tzfat. I was at my Holy friends Tali & Avraham’s home for Shabbas the following Friday night. After we finished our meal, Tali read us the story of Yossele The Miser from Shlomo Carlebach’s book. We had tears in our eyes, our hearts were open. Right then I decided to stay here in my home, Tzfat, Israel, The Holy Land. All other possibilities suddenly vaporized, Thank God!
Shabbat is coming in just as I finish writing this post. It’s been rainy, foggy and grey all day and the sun just came out!! Woo Hoo!
Many blessings to you all, Shabbat Shalom!
